Professor Jennifer Curtin attends the OECD Experts’ Meeting on Gender Budgeting

In June 2018, Professor Jennifer Curtin attended the OECD Experts’ Meeting on Gender Budgeting. The meeting hosted senior budget officials from OECD and non-OECD countries and multilateral organisations to share experiences and promote cross-country learning on gender-responsive budgeting. Jennifer presented a review of New Zealand to the OECD’s Roundtable on ‘Better Governance on Gender Equality.’  Jennifer is one of the few non-government members of the Gender Budgeting Experts Group and continues to liaise with the OECD on new global developments in gender-responsive budgeting and mainstreaming gender analysis.

Women have borne the brunt of caring responsibilities during the pandemic which has had negative effects on their careers.
